In spite of the• beautiful newly erected very modern school 'building completed a year ago, still -more room is needed for the lower grades. The Beach schoolhouse, erected in that district about twenty years ago, and in good condition has been purchased by the Con B district and as soon as bids are let the building will be moved and set upon a cement foundation at the West End school, repaired and lavatories in-
; stalled, to take care of the overflow of young children.
The last year in which school was held in the Beach district was in 1939. In June of that year, the school board, Mrs. Barni Macari, Mrs. W. A. Austin and Mrs. Mark Lattin, petitioned the Con B board for permission to let the five remaining children attend the town school as funds were no longer available to carry on the school work. It was at the time only a temporary measure. Later the district consolidated with Con B. The first teacher in the Beach school was Mrs. Alice Rowecliffe, who was teaching in the Stillwater school a couple of years ago, when illness forced her to give up her teaching.
The building will be located at the south west corner and will be placed in the same position as the cottage building. It will be stuccoed to present a good appearance.
