Enterprising Ranchers Are

Community interest in the Beach district has resulted in donations of labor by a number of ranchers to the building of a modern schoolhouse which will meet requirements of a standardized school- The Beach pa, trons propose to standardize as soon as enrollment reaches the required point.
The new building is nearing completion. It is 26x40 feet on the floor plan, is provided with an abundance of windows, comes up to scientific ideas for ventilation, and furnishings will be arranged so as to facilitate work of pupils and teacher. The new lots were provided by S. Johnson in exchange for the old site. The patrons plan to beautify the grounds with trees and shrubbery. All of the work is being donated and ten to twelve are now busy on the Job.
In addition to the new schoolhouse, a homed is being provided for the teacher, and it will be fitted up in time for the school opening. The old schoolhouse has been moved to the new site for this purpose, and it will be remodeled and rearranged into a home.
Miss Alice Phillips has been employed to teach the school during the ensuing year. There will be an increase of attendance with the opening of school over attendance of fourteen last year and, according to present outlook, there will be greater in-
; creases of pupils during the next two years.
Directors of the district who have been taking a lead in building the schoolhouse are Riley Rice, Cash Lee and Mrs. Lydia Schafer.
