Description

"The Institute" was built by Churchill County as a bording school around 1875. W.H.A. Pike was the first teacher and the county superintendent of schools. The bourding school could house around 30 students, most of whome could only attend for 3 months at a time. This building was later bought by the Seventh Day Adventests to use as a church. A portion of this building was moved to 295 East Park and was used as a luthernal church and then converted into a home.
