Lone Tree School District was created in response to the consolidation of a number of rural schools with the city schools in 1918. The people living in the Lone Tree District did not want to send their children into Fallon for schooling and so created the Lone Tree School District out of what was formerly part of the St. Clair District. School began in September of 1918 and the first teacher was Erma Patterson. The first Lone Tree schoolhouse was the old Fairview schoolhouse. In 1924 a new schoolhouse was designed by W.L. Crehore and met the requirements to become a "Standard Rural School" in 1925. After closing in 1956, the school building was used as a family home.

MODERN SCHOOLHOUSE FOR LONE TREE DIST.
BOARD CONTRACTS FOR STANDARD STRUCTURE AND
EQUIPMENT
From plans made by L. W. Crehore and outlined by T. W. Chapman, assistant superintendent of public instruction, in accordance with standard specifications for school buildings, patrons of the Lone Tree District are to have a modern and attractive schoolhouse at from $250 to $450 less than estimates. Contract was let this week to Contractor Ogden for $2550.
The building will be of stucco on metal lath width dearly all the north side of glass. Outside dimensions will be about 26 by 36 feet. Floors will be hardwood. The main room will be 34 by 24 feet inside. A teachers' room will be large enough for living quarters if needed for that purpose. There will be a hallway with entrance from a porch.
The school board is issuing $4000 of bonds that have been purchased by the Churchill County Bank. Cost of hauling building material, purchase of site and furnishings have not been included in the contractor's bid.
School will open at Lone Tree District next Tuesday with Mrs. Clyde B. Stark in charge. Mrs. Stark taught two years in the Lone Tree District and last year was at the Hazen school. Miss Leola Pinger, who taught at Lone Tree last year, resigned to resume a post-graduate course at the University of California, Berkeley.
