Description
High School will Commence October 7th
The county commissioners met as a high school board Tuesday evening at which time the application of Grace L. Moon, for the position of high school principal was acted upon favorably. Miss Moon comes to the work of inaugurating high school methods under favorable auspices, having been a teacher of many years’ experience. She taught high school studies in New York state for several years and later followed the same line of work in New Mexico. She wishes to announce that the course of study to be adopted will be identical with the State University high school at Reno. Matters pertaining to starting the high school will be rushed and every effort is being made to have every thing in readiness for the opening of the high school on the first Monday of next month. Owing to the fact that supplies and fixtures were ordered to come by freight and the maintenance of an irregular freight schedule for this section, it is possible , however, that the date selected, may be a few days to early, but the policy of the county high school board is to have school opened just as soon as possible.
