SCHOOL HOUSE BURNED
In Shedder District Friday Morn-
ing Breaking High Tension
Line—Soon Repaired.
The school house in Sheckler district caught fire yesterday morning shortly before school time and was totally destroyed,
but all the furniture and books' were saved. A defective pipe was the cause. There was no insurance. Three rooms were immediately cffered for school purposes and arrangements were made to accept the offer of the teacher, Miss Zay Barber, of a large room in her father's home which is unoccupied. School will open Menday.
The district had previously secured a location for a new school house on the C, E. Babb ranch, just across the road from the Barber home.
The old school building stood so close to the road that the electric transmission line and telephone wires were almost over the, structure and the fire caused the breaking of one wire on the transmission line and both phone wires.
Joe Bean, electrical superintendent for the government, and City Electrician Crehore plunged into tho work of
making repairs and by about half past I two the juice from the darn was again I turned on and motors put in operation.
